What is Animal Law?
That is the question I hear the most often. Animal Law is an area comprised of many other areas of law. Marine parks? Animal Law. Animal cruelty? Animal Law. Farm animals? Animal Law.
Specific examples that are relevant to my clients are: custody cases, nuisance cases, breeders who sell sick animals, veterinary malpractice, family pets being killed or harmed, civil cases of neglect, abuse, and abandonment of animals, assistance animals, adoption agreements, hoarding issues, etc.
These are not even all of the issues that can come up in an Animal Law case. If you don’t know if you have a cause of action, it’s best to speak to a lawyer.
I know Animal Law because I have an Animal Law Certificate from Lewis + Clark Law School. That means I took specific classes and clinics in order to get my certificate and practice Animal Law. I believe in justice and will not take any case unlike other attorneys in this area. Helping animals is my main goal. Why practice Animal Law otherwise?
